Community Development


✔ Last January 2018, EEI supported the livelihood program of Barangay Holy Spirit by donating 125 kilos of recyclable PET plastic bottles. The livelihood program produces and sells products like handbags, home and office decorations, and storage baskets made from recyclable materials such as paper, plastics, PET plastic bottles, and carton.


✔ EEI designed, built, and donated a stage to Barangay Santol, Quezon City to be utilized for barangay assemblies, gatherings, and occasions.

✔ The Skyway project management team donated materials to Barangay Tatalon for the repair of path walkways and alleys.


✔ A one-day training seminar on the construction of Solar Night Lights was conducted last March 2016 by the National Housing Authority (NHA), in coordination with TESDA and with assistance of EEI, at Southville 9, in Baras, Rizal. Southville 9 is a housing project of NHA with over 3,000 registered families. Aside from providing some lighting to their homes, it was hoped that learning the technology would also provide the participants with the knowledge on how to assemble, troubleshoot, maintain the devices, and even make it a form of livelihood.

Disaster Relief


✔ Last September 2018, 鶹ý provided a 10-wheeler truck to assist La Salle Green Hills in delivering relief goods to Baguio City for the individuals and families in the province of Benguet who were affected by Typhoon Ompong. The relief goods, which consisted of 50 sacks of rice, 50 boxes of canned sardines, 83 boxes of corned beef and 13 boxes of bottled water were delivered to the Bishop’s House, Baguio Cathedral. Relief goods were distributed to Bokod, Kibungan, and Bakun.



✔ The MRT-7 HR Group responded to GMA Kapuso Foundation’s call for volunteers to join a packing activity held at the Foundation’s warehouse in Quezon City last April, 2019. A total of 300 packs of school supplies were prepared by the group. The school supplies will be given to Grades 1 to 3 students in provincial school/s


✔ EEI supported Brigada Eskwela 2018 by helping Bagumbayan Elementary School. EEI employee volunteers cleaned classrooms, set up fifteen TV monitors, and installed white boards which were donated by the Company.

At the Mathay School Building, EEI installed the much needed water line connections allowing the the students to have access clean and running water at their comfort rooms.

✔ In celebration of World Teachers’ Day, EEI donated raffle prizes to the Bagumbayan Elementary School as part of the school’s Teachers’ Day Programme in honor of their hard working and caring teachers.


✔ Last May 30, 2017, EEI supported Ateneo de Manila Center for Education Development’s (ACED) 2017 Brigada Eskwela Project. EEI's participation consisted of the donation of various school supplies such as plastic envelopes, notebooks, pencils, crayons, and boxes of white chalk.

✔ To show appreciation for teachers on National Teachers’ Day in 2018, EEI representatives gave token gifts to the teachers of Bagumbayan Elementary School.

✔ In light of calamity caused by the devastating armed conflict that took place in Marawi in 2017, 鶹ý in cooperation with Children’s Hour Foundation, ran the Children’s Hour One Hour Campaign to provide school kits for students and to fund long-term and sustainable projects in education for the children displaced in the region. At the end of the end of the one-month campaign, EEI, together with its subsidiary companies were able to engage 951 employees who donated a total of 4,621 hours’ worth of salaries which amounted to PhP 710,291



✔ Celebrating a Decade of Change, The YGC Earth Care Story

The YGC Earth Care Project was born in 2011 in celebration of YGC’s 100 years anniversary. It is a joint project with the DENR and the indigenous people of Tanay for a 100-hectare Reforestation Program in Mt. Bangkaan in the Sierra Madre Region.

To date, there are 23,000 trees along the 58-hectare plant site, most of which are now over 20 feet high. For 2022, our mandate is to complete the planting of trees in the remaining 42 hectares that will fulfill our 100-hectare commitment.

✔ Last March 2018, EEI’s Panglao Airport Project Management Team recycled some of its waste materials such as drums, which were made into trash bins; and hard hats which were converted into hanging pots, and donated these to different public schools and government agencies/offices in Panglao Island.

✔ EEI employees conducted a tree planting program at the Tanza Yard last September 2018. The group planted around 300 Mahogany trees and 25 fruit-bearing trees like Rambutan, Santol, Calamansi and Kamias.


✔ Last May 19, 2017, a team of EEI employees monitored the 3-hectare area which it was assigned to take care of in 2012, when EEI joined other YGC member companies in the YGC Forest Tree Planting Activity at Barangay San Andres, Tanay, Rizal. The team counted a total of 1,388 trees in the 3-hectare area assigned to it.

✔ A team of around 100 EEI employees went to the La Mesa Nature Reserve to plant trees. The members had to trek through approximately 10 kilometers of rain forest to reach the one-hectare site where 500 seedlings of various types of trees were planted.

✔ 鶹ý’s Steel Fabrication Division took part once again in the Annual International Coastal Clean-Up (ICC) Day, held every 3rd Saturday of September.

✔ Last October 2017, it was the Manila Bay Clean-up at the Manila catch basin alongside the US Embassy along Roxas Boulevard, Manila that officers and members of 鶹ý's Employees Development Cooperative participated in.


✔ Last April 2016, the Project Management Team involved in the construction of the Boracay Airport in Caticlan participated in the Clean and Green Programs of the Municipalities by joining the cleanup drives at Barangay Caticlan in Malay, Aklan and Barangay Union in Nabas, Aklan, and donating trash bins to the Union Elementary School.

✔ Last April 2016, EEI 鶹ýbase employees and employees from the Equipment Services Group Majada Yard participated in the “Linis Ilog Program”, which was held in Antipolo.

✔ EEI employees took part in a tree planting activity held in Barangay Pintung Bukawe, San Mateo, Rizal last October 2016. The group planted 2,000 seedlings of fruit-bearing trees such as Guyabano and Langka for the community.



✔ EEI, together with Philippine Red Cross – Blood Bank Bohol Chapter and the local government unit of Panglao organized a Mass Blood Donation last May 2018. 56 EEI employees were able to donate.

✔ EEI, in cooperation with the Lung Center of the Philippines and Barangay Bagumbayan held a bloodletting activity in the company’s main office last July 2018. 58 bags of blood were donated during the activity.


✔ Last March 2017, Project Management Team with the help of Philippine Red Cross – Blood Bank Bohol Chapter, successfully organized a blood donation program.

✔ Last September 2017, Project Management Team with the Department of Health Nurses of Rural Health Unit-Panglao, held a free seminar on HIV awareness, and offered free counseling and testing.


✔ Last February 2016, a medical mission was conducted which benefited 54 patients who had chronic and debilitating diseases. Aside from providing medical care and donating medical supplies solicited from benefactors, the volunteers also provided ‘fun activities’ to bring cheer and merriment to all who were there.



✔ EEI employees reached out to the elderly in Kanlungan ni Maria, a shelter for the elders in Antipolo, Rizal. The team donated sacks of rice and groceries to the shelter. The said donations were from the “Piso Para Kay Lolo at Lola” activity which was organized by the company and participated in by employees.


✔ Last March 2018, EEI’s Panglao Airport Project Management Team reached out to Shepherd’s Arm Foundation, an orphanage located in Dauis, Bohol. The team donated school supplies, toiletries, and groceries to the orphanage which was shelter to 25 children at the time of donation.


✔ The Skyway Project Management Team donated sacks of rice to the personnel of the Police Community Precinct 8-Ugong Valenzuela City

✔ Last December 2017, EEI employees and staff of EEI’s Employees Development Cooperative in coordination with the official of Barangay Bagumbayan, Quezon City, organized an outreach program wherein 300 children were fed at the Barangay Multi-purpose Hall.


✔ Last December 2016, managers and staff of the Supply Chain Management Group conducted an outreach for the children of an isolated riverside community. Aside from providing lunch and donations of toys, clothes, toiletries, school supplies, and other items, the group had a program with games, songs, and dance numbers.

✔ Last May 2016, the Project Management Team of the Boracay Airport project in Aklan donated 5 steel filing cabinets and 7 office tables to the Philippine National Police for their extension office in Nabas.

✔ The company contributed to the 16th Anniversary of the Cityhood of San Jose Del Monte, Bulacan providing 1,000 T-shirts for the locals during their Alay Lakad last September 2016.

✔ Last June 2016, trailer truck traveling along the National Highway at Barangay Habana, Nabas, AKlan lost control and figured in an accident that resulted in the blockage of the highway. EEI dispatched a team, along with lifting equipment, to assist in getting the truck out and normalizing the flow of traffic.
